Price Lookup

Overview

(Assumes you have Manufacturer Price Files loaded)

This tool allows you to pull up the price file for any manufacturer and see what pricing has been loaded. Most users find it helpful for giving a customer a price quickly rather than creating a quote and sending it. There are some reporting tools under the Reports menu to run:

 - Item Location report  - gives customer a list of locations/addresses where that item can be viewed (installed)

 - Product sales report (For a part). - shows how many, and high. low and average price

Using Price Lookup

To look up an item in OASIS, begin by selecting a manufacturer. Optionally, select a customer (selecting a customer will show customer price exceptions - if they exist). Next, key part or all of the part number (catalog number) and press "tab" or click the "find" button:

Without a customer, the system shows:

  • Part (catalog) number
  • Description
  • Book price with commission
  • Base - the price selected from the OASIS quote path (would populate Base in quotes).
  • OBase - the price where the manufacturer pays overage (would populate OBase in quotes).
  • Notes - see pricing notes below
  • Local Inv - if the manufacturer is setup for consigned or resell inventory,  the number of items available to sell are shown
  • The remaining columns are the different price columns set up in the OASIS price list (pricing and over in this example)

To activate customer exceptions in OASIS, add a customer and repeat the search:

With a customer, the system shows:

  • Part (catalog) number
  • Description
  • Price - the sell price OASIS would use on an order
  • Notes - see pricing notes below
  • Local Inv - if the manufacturer is set up for consigned or resell inventory, the number of items available to sell are shown
  • The remaining columns are the different price columns set up in the OASIS price list (pricing and over in this example)

Pricing Notes

The "notes" column in the Price Lookup application will show any of the following values:

  • Overageable - The overage price was used for "Price"
  • Base - The base price (per QPath) was used for "Price"
  • EXCEPTION - a customer price exception was used
  • Book Price - The default "book price" was selected
  • Level # Price - The customer was set to a price level or "OPath" was used to select the price.
  • Config. Estimate - An OASIS series matched the catalog number and a price was generated from the series logic
  • Configured - An OASIS series configuration matched the catalog number and the price of the configuration was used.

The Tabs

Lookup

The lookup tab shows the look up results as described above:

Exceptions

This tab will show any part/cat numbers that have a Customer price exception

Attachments

Some factories provide some or all pricing information as PDF only. This is not ideal. However, if these PDF files are added to the active price list in the OASIS Pricing system, they will also be available here. Just click on the attachment file name to see the contents within OASIS. Because a PDF file is essentially "electric paper", the data can not be pulled directly into an OASIS quote or order.

Menus

  • File
    • New
      • New Item - if the user has access, a new item is added to the price list (for all users to see)
      • New Item Like - if the user has access, the selected item is used as a model for a new item to be added to the price list
    • Edit Item - if the user has access, the highlighted item is shown in a window allowing description, pricing, and other updates.
    • Close - the main OASIS window is closed
  • Edit
  • Tools
    • Configurator - the OASIS configurator is called for the selected item. (If the manufacturer has provided an interface for OASIS to call their configurator directly, the manufacturer's configurator is shown instead.)
    • History - Quote and order history for the item is shown in a pop up window
    • Stock - availability for the item is shown. Availability for the item is obtained within OASIS if the item is defined as a consigned or owned inventory in OASIS. Availability may also be obtained if the manufacturer has provided OASIS an interface to access availability directly from the manufacturer's data system.
  • Reports
    • Item Location Report - a report showing the project names where the item was ordered for. Good to use to see where the item may be installed.
    • Product Sales Report - a report showing the count and amount the item was sold for previously.
    • Price Sheets - print price sheets from OASIS for customers.
  • Help - standard OASIS help menu.
