Price List Editor

Overview

The price list editor allows a simple listing of complete catalog numbers with description, pricing, and other product information. The content of the data is similar to a spreadsheet, allowing paste/copy functions from/to various spreadsheet programs.

Price List Editor

Price List Tab

The primary data elements are:

  • Name - name of the list as it appears in other applications in OASIS
  • Description - not normally shown, but used to identify the list.
  • Effective Start - Only for reference at this time - does not affect how OASIS operates
  • Effective End - When changed, a popup asks to update ALL items in the price list to match the end date.
  • Created - user and date - will be blank for all lists created in revisions of OASIS prior to W415
  • Updated - last user and date to update the price list
  • Price list - all the items in the price list. "Part" is the only required column. See "Fields" below for more information
  • Customer Exceptions - price exceptions on a per customer basis (see below).
  • Level Names - setup how OASIS searches price columns to obtain a file price.
  • Workgroup Access - which workgroups and OASIS applications have access to this list.
  • Attachments - the standard OASIS attachments. PDF files stored here are available elsewhere in OASIS

Customer Exceptions Tab

A customer exception consists of:

  • Part - the items AND MUST ALSO EXIST IN THE "PRICE LIST" TAB!
  • Customer - identifies the customer to receive the exception
  • Cost - (Resell only) Any over-ride price for cost
  • Price - Any over-ride price for price
  • Commission - (Rep version) the commission
  • MFG Quote - the quote number to identify the price with the factory
  • Effective End - used to expire the price. If the date is prior to "today", then the price exception will not be used.

Level Names Tab

Level Name Identification and Import Control

The following fields are defined:

  • Level - This is the level as used internally by OASIS. The levels are Book, plus 15 "levels". Each Level corresponds to corresponding 2 columns in the price list tab: * price and * commission column. (* is the name book or number of the level from the level names tab).
  • Label - Name for that level of pricing.  The label is displayed in other applications in OASIS, such as price lookup. To "hide" a column to end users (e.g. quoters), leave the label field blank.
  • Kind - This is mostly used for import control, but is also used in the manufacturer and rep versions to identify the overageable column:
    • Unused (or blank) - allows OASIS to automatically populate the column in future downloads.
    • Price - The column contains pricing. If configured, the column may be updated by OASIS with price downloads
    • Overageable - data from the column is automatically copied to the "OBase column on the manufacturer and rep versions of OASIS.
    • Manual - OASIS will not automatically update the column
    • Base Calc - in the manufacturer and rep versions, the column sets the "agent lowest price". The overageable column is the high price. The commission and price of the two columns form a sliding scale, allowing a rep or manufacturer to key a price and get the commission (e.g. in a quote) or key a commission and get the price.
    • Territory - (Do not use) - currently has no functionality
  • Series Markup - % to mark up, or mark down the price when using a configured item from a series.

Search Paths

Search paths are used DIFFERENTLY between quotes and orders:

  • OPATH - A CUSTOMER MUST HAVE AN ACCOUNT BEFORE THE OPATH IS SCANNED! If no account is found, the sell price in the order becomes the book price in the price list. If the customer does have an account, the account "level" value is used as a starting point in the OPATH scan. This means one or more levels in the OPATH can be skipped, allowing for different customers to receive different prices (e.g. stocking and non-stocking distributors).
  • QPATH - No customer selection needed. In a quote, this path is scanned for the first non-zero price - in the order shown. If a non-zero value is found, this becomes the "Base Price" and the "Sell Price" in the quote.

Workgroup Access Tab

Individual workgroups may be assigned access to this list by application. That is, one workgroup may have no access to this list, while another may have access, but only for quotes (e.g. the price list has pricing that will not be effective until after a price increase at the end of the month).

  • Orders - the workgroup has access to this price list in orders
  • Quotes - the workgroup has access to this price list in quotes and projects.
  • All - set all workgroups to have access to this price list for both orders and quotes
  • None - no workgroup has any access to this price list
  • Orders Only - all workgroups have access to this price list, but only for orders
  • Quotes Only - all workgroups have access to this price list, but only for quotes

Adders

In the past, this was the basic pricing configurator, or to create a kit. From W415 and later revisions, the options described below will be supported.

Adders - Simple Lists

An adder is a simple letter or set of characters that must be supplied to complete the item. This allows for an abbreviated price list to be created. Consider a base item with three finish options. This could be represented as three rows in the price list editor without adders. Using adders, this becomes one row in the price list to maintain:

Part Adder Price
SUPER1 B=BLACK,W=WHITE,Z=BRONZE $10.00
SUPER2 B=BLACK,W=WHITE,Z=BRONZE $20.00

Using adders, it is assumed the pricing and other attributes are identical and results is the same as:

Part Price
SUPER1B $10.00
SUPER1W $10.00
SUPER1Z $10.00
SUPER2B $20.00
SUPER2W $20.00
SUPER2Z $20.00

Kits

Kits are also stored in the adders column. If the row represents a kit, all pricing information is ignored. When a kit is selected by the user, the components are inserted into the quote or order instead. The best way to create a new kit is to create a kit/component sequence in a quote. Then right-click on the kit (a part number is required to identify the kit) and select "create kit".

For reference, here is an example

!kit=C,1,RV,HOUSING;C,1,RV,TRIM

Format is:

  • Kit Identifier: !kit=
  • One or more components separated by semicolons
    • Component identifier: C
    • Quantity: 1 (or other integer)
    • Manufacturer ID: RV (in this example)
    • Catalog number of the component: "HOUSING" in the first component and "TRIM" in the second.
