Overview

OASIS consists of server software (Sybase's Adaptive Server Anywhere) and client software for the user. This document shows the recomended platforms (Hardare and Operating System).

Client Workstations

The following windows configurations are recommended:
 

Windows

Macintosh

CPU: Pentium 4 or later
RAM: 1GB or more
DISC: 512MB free
OS:    Win 2000 – until end of 2010
          Windows XP
          Windows Vista
          Windows Servers 2003 and 2008
          Citirx and Terminal Services

CPU: Available Intel CPUs*
RAM: 1GB
DISC: 512MB free
OS: OS X, V10.4 or later

* Should work on non Intel CPUs as well, but not tested at this time.

Servers

The following server configurations are supported:

Novel Netware

Unix

Macintosh

CPU: Pentium 4 or later *
RAM: 2GB or more*
DISC: 10GB per year**
OS:    Win 2000 – until end of 2010
          Windows XP
          Windows Vista
          Windows Servers 2003 and 2008
          Citirx and Terminal Services

No longer supported by Sybase.

 

Please upgrade.

Available under special support contract with Ingen Software.

Not Supported.

 * When upgrading, consider adding more memory over more CPUs
** With average use, OASIS will consume about 10GB per year – less for smaller offices or limited use. If using OASIS to “go paperless” estimate 25GB or more per year.
