Launch OASIS from the newly created desktop shortcut. The first screen you will see is the database login screen.
For the purposes of this help document, we will assume that you will use the preferred driver, SAJDBC. (This optional document will give a full explanation of which database drivers are available: Database Login)
Server: IP address of server
If you are working from the server, the server field will be "localhost". Otherwise, enter the IP address of the OASIS server. Once the information is entered, OASIS will remember this info for future logins. Press Ok.
OASIS will detect that this database is new and will prompt you to create tables. Click Yes.
You will see a progress indicator. This will take less than a minute to complete.
Once the tables are added you will see the OASIS login screen. The user name for the first login will be "demo" with no password.
OASIS will indicate that it is unlicensed. Click License Viewer.
In the License Viewer, you will need to enter the Licensed To and Database ID (DBID) as provided by Ingen Software in your demo license keys.
If these were not listed in the email you received, you can open your license file in a text editor like Notepad, then copy and paste those fields from the license file into OASIS. Once those fields are entered, click the Add button at the bottom of the License Viewer.
Select the license file, then click Open.
A message should appear indicating that licenses were updated or added.
The license file is now applied. Click Close. You will be prompted to restart OASIS. It will automatically restart and download the latest update. This may take a few minutes.
Once downloaded, you will be prompted to make the new release active. Click Yes.
A message will indicate that the release was activated. Click Ok.
The latest release will be downloaded from the database to the local computer. An additional update may be required depending on a number of factors. Click Yes if you see the next pop up.
Once the update is complete, you will see the login screen once more. Again, the username is "demo" with no password.
Congratulations! OASIS is now installed and ready for initial configuration.
