Generic Connector - FTP

Overview

FTP is a very basic file transfer protocol that is easy to setup and supported by most servers and application software. The only real issue is that the information is not encrypted and the data on the server (by default) may not be secured. Once security concerns are addressed, FTP can be a powerful and easy to use solution.

Connection String

    format : ftp:host

ftp - constant, required
host - remote host OASIS will connect to

Implementation Notes

The Generic connector will only support passive FTP connections using the binary transfer method. The result is that data sent by OASIS will always be in the caracter encoding specified by the file format (no ASCII translation). Both send and receive protocols are supported.
