Kits & Components in OASIS Quotes

(or Assemblies)

Overview

Kit and Component lines (Code column) allow you to create a main line made up of one or more lines (Components) below it to create a “Kit”.

When pricing a fixture, pole or other items that are made up of several parts, you may need to show these as a single unit on a single line, show the breakdown of the parts but priced as a single line or even pricing broken out separately. The Kit (and Components) can also be added to the price list for the Kit line manufacturer, click here for more. Common uses for Kit & Components are poles, track lighting and assemblies of all types.

Below is an explanation on how to use.

Kits & Components (Assemblies)

Kit or Assembly is a number of parts put together to part make one end item. This kit can have its own part number or you can leave the Kit Part column blank and OASIS will combine the Component Part columns together in the Kit line. Build the Kit and enter the number of these Kits needed in the BQty column. A kit or assembly is made of Components only (see below), with the exception of using the Lamp line as one of the Components.

Example: Kit = a Pole Kit   Component = Pole line items including, Pole, Head line item, Arm Line item, Lamp line item, etc.

Components (only used to make a Kit)

Parts that make up kits. As components are added, the price is reflected in the Kit price column. These can be rolled up or down when the Quote is printed. It will print with just the kit line, the kit with the items broken out. Or with the items broken out and priced separately.

NOTE – Lamp lines may be substituted for Component lines if needed.

How to use

Option 1 – Using a Part number in the Kit line

In the Bill of Materials, use “Kit” on the first line and each succeeding line under the Kit you must use Component in the Code column – see example below.

Notice on the Kit line, Sell price column, is grayed out. The prices of the components will total in the Sell column.

On the Component lines, the number entered in the Qty column is the Qty needed to make one Kit.

The Sell Price should be the price per quantity. Example – each pole (2344HGT-20) is $400 in the example above

Once the Components are entered that are needed to make one Kit, then enter the number of Kits needed (the Kit Qty column).

Example printed below:

Option 2 – Leaving the Kit line Part column blank

Users can also leave the Part column blank, enter the Component parts and OASIS will merge the Component part numbers on to the Kit line (Part column)

Example printed Quote below:
